Have you ever had a fire in your home? Hopefully you never experienced it, since fires in homes can be very devastating. Unfortunately, many times fires turn out worse than they should because of a lack of smoke alarms. While smoke alarms are neither expensive nor hard to find, the problem usually comes when the battery runs out. The common solution for an alarm that has low battery and starts beeping is usually to pull the battery out, even though it should be replaced.
With a fire comes smoke, and if you are sleeping, the smoke might make you pass out before you wake up, with fatal consequences.
To be as safe as possible, you should have an alarm outside each bedroom in your home, as well as one on every floor. You should also have one near any flammable materials you might store. As a safety precaution, you should have a few replacement batteries handy, as well, in case they need to be replaced.
