When selecting the colors or design of furnishings and accents in a space, it’s often most attractive to find colors and shapes that compliment each other. But one part of the design that can easily be overlooked in the planning stages is not just the shapes and colors of what is in the space, but also what can be seen from it – through your windows!
Just as you might match your colors to a featured painting on the wall, your view from the room is a beautiful scene of art that has an impact on the space. So choose colors that compliment the view, or if you have a specific view from your home, why not theme accordingly. If you can see the beach, for instance, then you could have a seaside theme in the space to make the beach feel closer. Or if you live near nature, a green pallete could make your home feel ever more involved in it’s surroundings. Whatever your view, make sure to consider it as a feature to the space.
