There are certain features to look out for when buying an air purifier which can be the difference between a very effective purifier, and one that is completly useless.
Air purifiers are most effective when they are compatible with your room size, but to save on power consumption and ensure results, buy a purifier designed to be effective in a slightly bigger room. This will enable you to use the purifier effectively even at lower settings. When it comes to filter types, true HEPA filters are the most efficient. But if you want to filter odors and gases as well, try air purifiers with both HEPA and activated carbon filters. A purifier’s CADR specifies its cleaning speed for the room size it was designed for. The higher the CADR figure, the quicker the filter can purify the air in that space. The ACH rating shows the number of times per hour the entire volume of air in that room will be filtered. A higher ACH rating indicates better efficiency and more regular purification for those with allergies.
